Advice for Newcomers to Canada

Moving from one place to another is a hardship for anyone. It takes time and effort to adapt to the new place you moved to. Every country, city, and town has its own rules and regulations that newsletters must learn about and follow.

It is important for everyone to secure themselves financially. I have a few bits of financial advice for newcomers. The first would be to start a bank account at one of the trusted banks. They would have the option to create a checking or savings account, whatever they feel comfortable with. This will help them make sure their money is in a safe place and to keep track of their spendings. Secondly, I would recommend for people with children to apply for child benefits, which is a benefit program from the government for families with children. This would help the family raise their kids with all their needs fulfilled. The last thing I would urge newcomers to think about is investing their money in after retirement programmes. In Canada, there are many choices that are offered like: Canada Pension Plan, Registered Retirement Savings Plan, Old Age Security, and Employee Insurence. Those programs help elders secure their lives after retirement.

Newcomers should consult professionals in their financial status so that they would make sure they are taking the right step. It is very important to understand the rules of the place you are moving to and to plan further ahead.

                                                          Wealth Discussion

Every person looks forward to finding the key to success. The phrase "early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise." sounds like it has the key, which is to simply sleep and wake up early. I do not fully agree with this quote, because I believe that it only covers one part which is making a man healthy.

The quote suggests that sleeping early and rising early would make a man healthy which is true. the effects of having good sleep are great to the body. Adding to that, good sleep provides better health for the brain cells which are the main reason a body functions. so for the first part of the phrase, I do agree that "early to bed, early to rise" would make a man healthy. The second part of the phrase says that good sleep would make a man wealthy, I do not fully agree with that. Good sleep does not have much to do with wealth but it has a lot to do with productivity throughout the day, and I see them as two different paths. That is why I believe this saying does not have the key to wealth. Thirdly, it is mentioned that "early to bed, early to rise" would make a man wise. I don't think that is true because its life experiences that make someone wise in my opinion. The advice that was given would not affect the judgment of a person or the way he views the world because those are part of his personality, which waking and sleeping early do not affect much.

An early rise is no doubt helpful to everyone and gives a great start to the day. But I do not think that it is right to say that this phrase really guides us to be wealthy in all aspects of life.

Bank complains opinion paragraph

Bank  complains opinion paragraph

In my opinion, banks customers all around the world face problems like this it may not be all of them of course but I am sure they went through at least one or two complain against their banks.
I am going to talk about my own experience with my old bank after I closed my account with that bank,I transferred my money to a new one and canceled my debit card and visa card.I also had signed all documents with the customer service. After two months I received a message from the previous bank, they told me I should pay my account fee,I was really shocked after a long discussion with customer service,I found that the customer service employee forgot to submit the document to close my account and sure I paid all the fee and I finished the problem. It was a bad experience with bad customer service, and also a huge mistake from their end. Besides that, I never get any benefit from the reward points, I agree to a loyalty means nothing and some time I am surprised with hidden fees.To all of our complains we should have a bank account, but we should be more aware of our rights and always follow with our banker.

After we did venn digram today I found most of  consonant letters are share between  my mother language which is Arabic just few sounds aren’t in Arabic like(P,V,Ch,Zh,Ng).
Same for vowels sounds just few sounds we don’t have in Arabic language (ow,o,uw,aw,u,and er)
After our class today I noticed that the sounds are so similar for English and Arabic.
I will try to learn how to spell the sounds that I don’t practice in my mother language.
Thank you Marcella .
TASK 2

Being a mother is hard it is much of a responsibility and needs a lot of effort to handle it.I have
always tried to keep my promises with my kids. But it is so hard to keep up with all four of them especially when each has his own wishes but I regretted not fulfilling one promise after what happened with my daughter.

It was her first musical concert where she played the piano in and I missed it because I had planned plenty of things on that day. This was 3 years ago when my daughter was in the fourth grade and she had been playing the piano since she was four. She has finally decided to play in the school music band I encouraged her a lot since I know she is so talented. She was so happy when she found out that the teacher chose her to play at the concert which was held on Mother's Day.She came home so excited telling me that she already save me a seat and I promised her that I will be first in the hall and that I will feel every moment of her playing to keep it as a memory. She was sure that I will be there to support her. Later on that day,I received a phone call from the hospital saying my mother in the emergency department and I should be there as soon as possible, and sure the result for that I had missed my daughter's performance.I was very sorry and sad for doing that,I called her telling her how sorry I am .she was very sad, angry and held grudge against me I understood that she going through a hard time, she refused to talk to me for a couple of weeks.I tried to explain many times for her how I missed her performance but she would not accept.Until finally I got the idea of inviting her friends over and make her play the piano for them while I am there,I made the whole setup for the house to look like a mini stage and invited her friends over.We all surprised her with the decorations and she played the piano so nice.

Finally, she forgave me and I promised to never miss anything again.I felt so good when we fixed what I had messed up because I understand how devastated she must have felt when I didn't show up.But luckily I made it up to her. Also, I learned never miss up any special event for my kids and if that happens I do my best to make up to all my mistakes.

All about me

I am Farah. I came from an Iraqi background. I am a mother of three daughters and one son.
I am graduated as an Architecture. I really loved the major I studied and working in my field was
an extraordinary experience for me. Before I came to Canada I lived in Dubai for about twenty years,
where I had all my kids born there and got married. Living in Dubai was a very luxurious segment of my journey. My family and I decided it is time to move somewhere else, somewhere my kids would feel home at. Also, a huge reason for us moving to Canada is us wanting our kids to get the education and full fill their dreams. My experience in Canada has been of new feelings, people, and places. It is a very different place than any other I have been to. My kids and I really enjoy Canada's weather. My kids are doing very good in school here and this makes me feel happy. I hope five years from now witness my eldest daughter graduate from the University she wants. I also hope that my husband and I have stable jobs in our major.
